When advertising your affiliate links, you can track them using channels.
To use it, simply create a new channel for every link placement you want. In banners, you can choose to get the link version with channel appended. The channel parameter will be transferred also to the tracked commission, so you will know exactly what link led to the commission.
Examples of use:
1. Testing the best placement for the banner on your website - you can use the same banner, but with a different channel for every position - and you will know which one is clicked more or has better CTR.
2. PPC campaigns - you can have multiple ads for the same affiliate link. By using channel unique for every ad you can find out which ad converts more.
There are two ways to add a channel.
1. Through the Affiliate panel Promotion --> Ad Channels
2. or; To configure the AffLink (the more straightforward way)
Let's start with the first option on how to add a channel.
To add a channel through the Affiliate panel, you need to go Promotion --> Ad Channels page. You will see the button "Add Channel" hit on it. As saw on the pic below the system did create a prefilled channel for us. We need only change the Name and Code and save it. The code section will come to the AffLink.
You can now go to Promotion --> Banner & Links page select the newly created channel from the filter section and click on Apply button.
Now are the AffLinks in the list with channel code.
The second option is to write the channel to the end of your AffLink, and the system will automatically create the channel after the first click on it.
